New Tarts

I have just re evaluated my tart line. I have taken away a bunch of scents and added a few newer ones.  All the pumpkin scents will be back in the fall and the holiday scents will be back for Christmas.  I am still out of stock on the tart warmers.  But I still have the tarts available and wholesale available.  Email me at samanthaschmidt90@live.com for wholesale information.  This is my new line of tarts with their added descriptions.  I never thought of adding descriptions until now.  Some scents are self explanatory while others are definetly not, such as Amish Friendship, and Grandmas Cupboard.

Tart Desciptions:

Amber Romance - Victorias Secret Garden Scent. Smoky black cherry, Creme Anglaise, and sandalwood, with a smooth dry down of warming, sensual amber and an Egyptian Musk


Amish Quilt – Vanilla intertwining with cinnamon, clove, allspice, and a hint of sugar.

Amish Friendship _ Fresh baked bread with hints of raisin, nuts and strawberries.

Amish Spice Loaf - spiced sour-dough/sweet bread with notes of milky butter cream, pastry, caramelized sugar, raisins, spicy cinnamon & clove, hints of black currant, and vanilla beans.

Apple Jack & Peel – Mulled cider, cinnamon sticks, and a twist of orange peel.

Tart Warmers and Tarts

I have been selling Tart Warmers for the past year now at all of my craft shows, along with my tarts. I have two different types available.  Simply plug these into an electrical outlet, and place a wax tart inside and let melt. Your house will be smelling wonderful in no time! I am in the process of totally redoing my website and product line.  90% of what I will be making is tarts and roomsprays, and a few misc products.

We just got home from our week long honeymoon Saturday evening.  I have been working hard since I have gotten home.  It just seems like I cannot get caught up at all.  Between cleaning house, going through all the wedding presents, linens, etc. I am just slammed with things to do.  I have managed to get a bunch of tarts made for my upcoming show this weekend. Momma and I are doing the show McIntosh this Satuday, come see us if you are around the Gainesville area.  I have a few new fall scents available.

I have two other shows I am doing this year, and then one more I am helping momma with.  I am doing Micanopy FL Oct 28 and 29 (FL vs GA weekend).  And Calico, which is in Moultri GA Nov 12 and 13.  Then I am helping mom with Prime Osborn in Jacksonville FL Thanksgiving weekend.

Day 4

Tarts are simple to make. But can take some time. I first start by using a parafin-soy wax. I order online about 50 lbs at a time. Decide how much of a batch you want to make at one time. Normally I use 20 ounces of wax at a time, which is about 2.5 cups.

Put the wax into the pot and place onto the stove with a candy thermomater. I turn my stove onto meduim high. Melt the wax but don't let the temperature exceed 175 degrees. I tend to keep mine around 140 - 150 degrees.

After the wax reaches 150 degrees and it all melted, take it off the stove.  Then add your oil and color.  Stir in oil and color thoroughly.

Pour into the cups or molds. Let them sit long enough for them to cool down before you move them. If you move them too soon, they can crack.

After the tarts have cooled place them in your bags and create your labels to sell them.  Make sure to let the tarts sit 3-4 days before burning any of them to let the smells cure.

I've also included a short tutorial on making layered tarts. I am making seasonal Christmas tarts that are layered.

I am using molds so it is easier to see the layers. First pour in the first layer and set in freezer for about 10 minutes to cool almost completely. If you don't let them cool long enough, the colors will bleed together when you pour in your next color.

Next, pour in your second color and then repeat step 1, and place them back in to the freezer to cool almost completely again. Also make sure when you are pouring layered tarts to keep them on a smooth surface, if you don't then they wax wont sit flat/straight.

Lastly, pour your next layer of wax and place back into the freezer. This time make sure they are completely cooled! If you leave them in the freezer long enough, the tarts will just fall right out of the molds into your hands. So you won't break them or anything.

And this is what your ending tart should look like when layering them! It is simple once you get the hang of it. Just have plenty of patience when waiting on them to cool! These red and white tarts are a Christmas Special. Candy Cane. They smell amazing.

Fl Gators and New Scents!

I have made so many of these this past week, it is unbelievable! But it is wonderful! I have been making many new aprons, for both adults and children. 

And I have also been making a ton of these. I have been MIA this week on here. I have been working super hard on tarts. I picked up a wholesale account. I have tarts all of my house. Just piles of them.

I managed to squeeze in some time today to get a few aprons done. This is just one of them.  I have a craft show I am trying to get ready for in March. Wish me luck! Have a lovely weekend ladies :)

I've been working super hard this weekend.. Wow. Im a pooped!  I had a bunch of orders to get done.. And managed to make little girls aprons and adult aprons.  I think this little girls one, is super cute. I can't wait to make some adult size ones.

Mom found some of her old tart molds and gave them to me to use. They are so cute! She talked me into doing one scent called "Monkey Farts" Yes interesting name.. But it does smell very good. haha.  Also made some sheep and small feet in a "Honey Suckle Jasmine".  The small pink bars are in a scent called "Strawberry Shortcake".  Smells exactly like real strawberrys. Not imitation. I can't wait to see how well people like them at the show in Moultrie Ga.

Things I have been working on

These a are few things I have been working on.. I  have not been just sitting on my butt!  I gotten quite a few stitchery pillows done. and some more tarts.  I have an upcoming craft show in Moultrie GA this Spring I  am excited to do.  It is the weekend of the 18th in March.

Halloween Weekend

So the Florida vs Georgia game was this past weekend. Oct 30 at 3:30 pm. Some friends and I went to the game and tailgated for a while. And then we sat with a bunch of fellow co workers during the game. We had some obnoxious georiga fan sitting right behind me in the FLORIDA SECTION. I thought my boyfriend Chris was going to reach back and knock some since into him at one point! But it was soo much fun and it was such a great game. Sunday was my day to relax at home and work on stuff for my show. I got a couple little girls aprons done and 1 full size apron. I worked also for a couple of hours on making tarts.

Fall Giveaway Starts Tmrw!

I love this fall weather don't you?? I decided to do a fall giveaway. Starts tmrw and Ends Oct 16th midnight. (Saturday.) I went over to my moms today. She showed me how she makes her tarts. Super Easy by the way. Melt the wax. Not too hot and it can't cool down too quickly either. Pour in the dye and the scent. Pour into cup or mold. Its that easy! (: We did six different scents today. Light pink: Amber Romance Yellow: Buttercream Birthday Cake Light Purple: Lemon Lavender (My absolute favorite. Yes the name does kind of through it off doesn't it. You wouldn't think lemon and lavender would go together well but it does for sure) Red: Apple Cranberry Marmalade White: Clean Cotton Green (Not pictured): Country Bumpkin














Each cup is one ounce. There is two cups per bag. The bags are being sold for $1.00 each plus shipping if bought online. (Look along the right side of my blog.) These tarts were made with the max amount of fragrance that was suggested to be used. They all are very strong scented tarts. Like I said my personal favorite is lemon lavender. It is a soothing and relaxing smell. Clean cotton will remind you of fresh, clean linen. The Amber Romance is a very distinct smell. Kinda powdery, but very feminine.


Me and mom went shopping also this past weekend. We went to Hobby Lobby in St Augustine. I found this apron print fabric. I think it is so cute. I want to make some matching little girls aprons out of it also. This apron print and will be featured on my website when it is finally up. Hopefully in the next week. This particular apron is "Posie's Kitchen" and is aprox 34" x 34". The neck straps are aprox 24" long ea. And the ties are aprox 43.5" long ea.
